WORK consists generally of interior demolition and remodeling of existing boys and girls toilet rooms, and development of a new staff toilet room from an existing office and a storage room at the Dallas Elementary School, located at 921 Creamery Hill Road, Dallas City, Illinois. A bid guarantee consisting of a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the Base Bid shall be submitted with each bid and bidder hereby agrees that the proceeds of such bid bond, check or draft shall become the property of the Board of Education, Dallas Elementary School District #327, if for any reason the bidder, within sixty (60) days after official opening of bids, withdraws his bid or if on notification of award refuses or is unable to execute tendered contract and provide an acceptable performance bond within ten days after such tender. Security shall be held only by bid bond issued by surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Illinois, or certified or cashier's check made payable to the Owner. Not less than the prevailing rate of wages as found by the public body or Department of Labor or determined by the court of review shall be paid to all laborers, workmen and mechanics performing work under this bid. Contractor shall submit proposed project schedule for review by Owner and Architect within two weeks of Award of Contract. Work shall start September 1, 2023. Work shall be substantially complete by August 1, 2024. Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any alternate bid in the sequence of his choice, and to adjust the contract sum accordingly at any time within sixty days after signing of contract. Submit all questions about the architectural drawings and specifications to the Architect. Submit all questions about the M/E/P drawings to the Engineer. Interpretations or corrections will be issued as Addenda. The Architect and Owner will not be responsible for oral clarification. Questions received less than seventy-two hours before the bid opening cannot be answered.
