Per Addendum 4- Bid Dat Extended Project includes the improvement of the chilled water infrastructure on main campus. Direct buried chilled water piping will be extended from Central Cooling Plant #1 (CCP#1) to the Whichard and Graham buildings and create a CHW loop. The cooling capacity of CCP#1 will be increased by 1500 Tons. New electrical switchgear will be provided to serve new equipment and replace obsolete electrical switchgear. Anticipated construction is Monday, October 30, 2023 through Friday, August 1, 2025 Project includes the improvement of the chilled water infrastructure on main campus. Direct buried chilled water piping will be extended from Central Cooling Plant #1 (CCP#1), located in the Science and Technology Building, to the Whichard and Graham buildings. Direct buried chilled water piping will also complete the Campus chilled water loop by installing direct buried chilled water piping from the Flanagan Manhole to existing direct buried chilled water valves located outside of the Rawl building. The cooling capacity of CCP#1 will be increased by adding a new 1500 Ton water cooled chiller, associated cooling tower, pumps, and hydronic specialties in available shell space. New electrical switchgear will be provided to serve new equipment and replace obsolete electrical switchgear. Bids will be received for single prime bid construction. All Proposals will be lump sum. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check drawn on some bank or trust company, insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, of an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal, or in lieu thereof a bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law. A performance bond and a payment bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Payment will be made based on ninety-five percent (95%) of monthly estimates and final payment made upon completion and acceptance of work. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 30 days The bidder must include completed minority business subcontractor documentation form(s) with their proposal or the bid may be considered non-responsive and invalid. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. East Carolina University has an affirmative policy of fostering, promoting and conducting business with minority owned enterprises. Minority contractors are encouraged to participate in the bidding process. The bidder must include completed minority business subcontractor documentation form(s) with their proposal or the bid may be considered non-responsive and invalid The state reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals. The goals for participation by minority firms as subcontractors on this project have been set at 10%. Anticipated construction is Monday, October 30, 2023 through Friday, August 1, 2025
