For Islands Improvements - Wilkinson Trace The City of Bowling Green, Kentucky reserves the right to reject any and all bids received, and to select that bid which it determines to be in its best interest. The award of this bid will be made on the basis of the Lowest Bid Price as permitted in KRS 45A.365 The City of Bowling Green, Kentucky is not responsible for the premature opening of, or the failure to open, a sealed bid not properly addressed or identified. Bidders are invited to be present for the opening of the bids submitted. The City of Bowling Green, Kentucky is soliciting bids for improvements to nine (9) landscaping islands located on Wilkinson Trace, starting at the intersection of Scottsville Road and Wilkinson Trace and ending just past the Sloan Convention Center. Work shall include removal of all existing grass and planting of a golf course grade turf type fescue. Contractors shall also remove all existing irrigation and install new irrigation in each island. The winning contractor shall also agree to maintain the islands with weekly mowing and trimming, all irrigation maintenance, and quarterly fertilizing. The maintenance price shall be for a one-year period but shall be renewable up to three times for a total period of four years. The estimated total square footage of all nine (9) islands is 23,760 square feet. There are existing hedge maple trees that shall remain. The winning contractor shall add a $10,000 allowance to their bid price for contingency, only to be used upon approval by the City of Bowling Green.
