The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry proposes to renovate the existing Molecular Sciences Building (MSB) 3rd floor rooms 3221, 3221LB, 3221A, 3426, 3225, 3225LB, 3235, 3235LB, 3235A, 3436, and 3440 into one organic chemistry research lab. The renovated lab would be capable of accommodating approximately twenty students/researchers and handle the projected volume of procedures and experiments required for current and future research needs. The project area is 4,675 ASF (5,060 gsf) located on the west side of the northeast wing of the building. MSB is an eight-story, 97,654 ASF (178,666 GSF) lab and office building constructed in 1993. The project scope includes reconfiguration of the entire laboratory space, including demolition of existing fume hoods and installation of (20) University Furnished/Contractor Installed fume hoods. Additional work includes reconfiguration of existing mechanical ductwork system and rerouting of existing plumbing and electrical utilities to accommodate the proposed program. If Alternate No. 1 is not taken, Contractor shall patch and repair the existing infill panels within the storefront where perpendicular walls are to demolished under the base bid B License (General Building) The estimated construction cost is $3,757,886.00 LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. The project area is 4,675 ASF (5,060 gsf) located on the west side of the northeast wing of the building.
