Project includes both the complete replacement of existing fire alarm systems at Foellinger Auditorium and English Building, and fire alarm system upgrades at the National Soybean Research Center and Madigan Lab (four buildings total). Work shall include demolition and either entirely new fire alarm systems (at Foellinger and English) or new fire alarm devices and associated programming (at NSRC and ERML), including initiation, automatic detection, and occupant notification. New systems shall integrate or supervise the existing building mechanical and fire protection (sprinkler) systems, as well as elevator and other indicated systems. New systems shall be manufactured by Siemens and shall be Cerberus Pro Modular series per campus standard. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informalities in the bidding, and to accept the bids deemed to be in the best interests of the Owner after all bids have been examined and evaluated. Alternates, if considered, will be accepted in any order as determined by the Owner. The following certification is applicable for contractors and subcontractors only. Pursuant to the Prevailing Wage Act, Vendor shall pay a wage of no less than the general prevailing hourly rate as paid for work of a similar character in the locality in which the work is performed, to all laborers, workers and mechanics, pursuant to definitions, guidelines and procedures set forth in 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et. seq. (2010).
