The work to be done generally consists of installing rectangular rapid flashing beacons at 2 sites: the Iron Horse Regional Trail crossing at Mayhew Way and the Contra Costa Canal Trail crossing at Cherry Lane in Walnut Creek. Work at the Mayhew Way site will also include construction of sidewalk bulb-outs on Mayhew Way, surface application of detectable warning surfaces on curb ramps, and tree trimming. Work at the Cherry Lane site will also include removal of existing in-ground flashers on Cherry Lane, surface application of detectable warning surfaces on curb ramps, and vegetation trimming. Bidders that have not attended a pre bid meeting in the last 12 months should attend the County pre bid meeting noted in the Notice to Contractors. The pre bid meeting will include an overview of the Outreach Program requirements and staff will be available to answer your questions. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
