The project consists of a new 450 sf restroom building. The building consists of load bearing split face cmu block, wood trusses, and a metal roof. The project also includes painting the existing restroom/concession building interior and exterior, and replacing the existing roof with a new metal roof. Bid security must accompany each proposal. Bid security shall be made to the City of Athens, Texas in the amount of five percent (5%) of the proposal sum. Security shall be either a certified check or bid bond by surety licensed in Texas. The Contractor will be required to furnish surety bonds guaranteeing the faithful performance of the work and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder, each in the penal sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The premiums for such bonds shall be paid by Contractor. All bids shall be on a lump sum basis. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: The undersigned agrees to fully complete the project within the time stated in the TIME OF COMPLETION paragraph above. The undersigned further agrees to pay as liquidated damages, the sum of $250.00 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter, as hereinafter provided in the Supplementary General Conditions. WAGE RATE: Each bidder, contractor or subcontractor must fully comply with the Texas Minimum Wage Act in regards to the prevailing minimum wage rates. Submit all questions about the Drawings and Specifications to the Architect in writing. Replies will be issued to all bidders of record as addenda to the Drawings and Specifications and will become part of the Contract. The Architect and Owner will not be responsible for oral clarification. Questions received less than 48 hours before the Bid Opening cannot be answered. The right is reserved by the City of Athens, Texas as the interest of the City may require, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informality in bids received.
