The City of Burlingame plans to demolish the existing Burlingame Square located in front of Burlingame Train Station and replace it with a new plaza. The work will include demolishing concrete surfaces, curb and walls, removing asphalt pavement, removing a trench drain, abandoning electrical conduit and removing electric wire, removing irrigation and landscaping, relocating a stone monument, protecting the flag pole, station monument sign and water service, installing new electrical conduit and wiring, new trench drain and grate, new curb and gutter, new colored concrete pavement, new concrete seat walls, new landscaping, new lighted kiosk, new uplighting, new irrigation system, new landscaping, new benches, new street lights and other related works. The Contractor shall possess a Class A license prior to submitting a bid. The City of Burlingame has established the following goal for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) participation for this project: DBE Contract Goal is 11.9 Percent. All work specified in this project, shall include the base bid and alternate bids (if shown in Proposal), and shall be completed within 80 working days (WD) (eighty) from date of the Notice to Proceed. Prevailing wages are required on this Contract. The Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations determines the general prevailing wage rates. All contractors and subcontractors will be required to submit a California Air Resources Board (CARB) compliance statement with the bid proposal. Failure to submit this statement may result in a nonresponsive bid.
