An award could be made the second week of November 2021. The Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois (the System or TRS) is requesting sealed bids for the complete work from prequalified contractors at the Office of the Teachers' Retirement System, 2815 West Washington Street, Springfield, Illinois, 627 Bid security (Bid Bond) made payable to TRS in the amount of 10% of bid. TRS is committed to increasing racial, ethnic, and gender diversity in all aspects of its utilization of vendors to provide goods and services to the System, to the greatest extent feasible, and within the bounds of financial and fiduciary prudence. To that end, the System strongly encourages qualified minority, female, disabled, and veteran- owned firms to submit bids for this project. A bidder's preparation and submittal of a bid or subsequent participation in presentations or contract negotiations creates no obligation on the System to award a contract or to pay any associated costs. All bids and related materials will be retained by the System and will be subject to disclosure as required in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. Work generally includes interior demolition, new partitions and doors, new finishes and associated electrical and ventilation work at selected areas. The contractor shall comply with all applicable laws of the State of Illinois and the United States of America, including, but not limited to the "Preference to Citizens (Illinois) on Public Works Projects Act" and the "Prevailing Wage Act", establishing the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality for each craft or type of worker or mechanic needed to execute the contract or perform such work, also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work, as ascertained by the Department of Labor. TRS will publicly open and read bids immediately after specified closing time and reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity in bidding.
