***As of October 8, 2021, the project has been awarded for the amount of $2,338,664.50.*** 5th Street Pedestrian Bridge and Intersection Improvements in Turners Falls, MA. The proposed project involves replacement and relocation of the existing pedestrian bridge and roadway and intersection improvements to the intersection of Canal Street and Turners Falls Road and Fifth Street in the town of Montague, Massachusetts intersection. Included in the work is full depth pavement reconstruction of the existing roadway extents, improving the intersection by reconstructing the parking lot and driveway entrances, construction of new pedestrian bridge, sidewalks, pedestrian ramp, driveway and parking lot entrance modifications, shared use path modifications, curbing, signage and pavement markings, as well as the reconstruction of pavement areas, utility relocations, drainage system improvements, and other incidental items necessary to complete the required work as illustrated on the Plans, titled as follows: 5th Street Pedestrian Bridge and Intersection Improvements; prepared by McMahon Associates, 94 North Elm Street, Suite 308, Westfield, MA 01085 All work under this Contract shall be done in conformance with the MassDOT Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges dated 2021, the Supplemental Specifications dated June, 2021,; the October 2017 Construction Standard Details, the 1990 Standard Drawings for Signs and Supports; the 1996 Construction and Traffic Standard Details (as relates to the pavement marking details only); the 2015 Overhead Signal Structure and Foundation Standard Drawings, the 2009 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) with Massachusetts Amendments and the Standard Municipal Traffic Code; the 1968 Standard Drawings for Traffic Signals and Highway Lighting; the latest edition of American Standard for Nursery Stock; the Plans and these Special Provisions.
