The work generally consists of milling and paving streets, Hot Mix Asphalt(HMA), adjusting castings, associated excavation, grading, cutting and HMA patching and berm pursuant to MassDOT Highway Division specifications. Estimated Cost: $235,000 Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. All work shall be in conformance with the latest edition of the MassDOT Highway Division Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges. The unit price per ton shall be in place. The exact locations, quantities and projects shall be designated by the Millis Public Works Department. All work shall be completed by October 30, 2021. The unit price shall include all materials and labor necessary for the performance of the work set forth in the bid documents. Quantities are approximate. The Town reserves the right to negotiate additional quantities of work at the same unit prices with the mutual agreement of the contractor. Work shall be inspected by a representative of the department. Weight slips shall be provided for each ton of material placed. Contractors must have the capability of installing a modified-machined (monolithic) cape cod berm directly from the paving machine. The inability to provide this service shall exclude the contractor from the contract. When ordered by the Town, the cost to provide this berm shall be included in the cost per ton for machine HMA Surface Course. The price per ton of HMA - bituminous concrete top shall include street sweeping; transition (18" wide milled key) cuts on streets and driveways, traffic control signs required by town and a full prime coat by truck. The price for milling roadways shall include removal and disposal of millings, and removal and resetting of mailboxes and signs, street and driveway transitions. Funding of the contract is contingent upon the approval of MassDOT Highway Division Chapter 90 funds and approval of Chapter 90 project requests, and appropriation of funds. All work contemplated on the above must be completed by October 30, 2021. Contractors hereby agree that time is of the essence and must anticipate weather delays in scheduling work to be completed by October 30, 2021. Liquidated damages shall be assessed at the rate of $1000.00 per day for each day the contractor has not completed all work after the completion date. Prices shall be listed on and all forms labeled "Proposal Document" shall be submitted with bid. Bonds, insurance, mobilization and demobilization, and final cleanup shall be included in the unit prices for all bid items in the contract.
