Installing a new traffic signal, asphalt concrete surfacing, and pavement delineation at the intersection of Morgan Road and Service Road. Bid forms for this work are included in the Bid Book entitled: CML-5241 (065) TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT MORGAN ROAD AND SERVICE ROAD (P18-014) Approval & Award by City Council : August 23, 2021 Pre-Construction Meeting w/ Contractor and City : September 2021 Contractor Starts Construction : March 2022 Time of Completion : 25 Caltrans Working Days Technical questions shall be in writing and should be directed to: Attn: Sam Royal City of Ceres, Engineering Department 2220 Magnolia St., Ceres, CA 95307 Phone: 209.538.5617 Samir.Royal@ci.ceres.ca.us Each bid must be sealed and accompanied by cash, a cashier's check, certified check or bid bond, executed on the prescribed form, in an amount not less than ten (10) percent of the total bid price payable to the City of Ceres. The cash, cashier's check, certified check or bid bond shall be given as a guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into a written contract within ten (10) calendar days after being requested to do so and will be considered as the stipulated amount of liquidated damages in the event the bidder is unable to or refuses to execute a contract for the work. All Bidder's bonds will be held until the Contract has been finally executed, after which all Bid bonds, other than any bond or securities which have been forfeited, will be returned to the respective bidders. The bidder's bond shall conform to the bond form in the Bid book for the project and shall be properly filled out, executed and must be notarized by both the contractor and surety. The successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. Each bond is to be executed in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. City Staff will certify that the certificate of authority of the insurer has not been surrendered, revoked, canceled, annulled, or suspended, or in the event that is has, that renewed authority has been granted within 10 calendar days of the insurer's receipt of the certificate shall be required. The bidder's bond shall conform to the bond form in the Bid book for the project and shall be properly filled out, executed and must be notarized by both the contractor and surety. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Any bid not conforming to the intent and purpose of the Contract documents may be rejected. The City reserves the right to make all awards in the best interest of the City. The DBE Contract goal is 6%. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990.
