As of August 21, 2023, an architect has been selected and this project is in the preliminary planning/schematic design phase and is pending acquisition of funding. Construction Documents have not been started and will not until funding is acquired. It is anticipated construction could be 3-5 years away. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Murphysboro is seeking interested and qualified architects and engineers who desire to apply for the designing and engineering work to build the proposed Administrative/Public Safety Complex at 11th & Locust Street in Murphysboro, Illinois. The City of Murphysboro will need assistance with obtaining grant funding, planning, designing, advertising, bidding, implementation and construction of an approximately 25,000 square foot building. This building will house all aspects of City governmental functions including general administration, police, fire, emergency management, code enforcement and water billing. The Architect or engineer will also provide oversight of the demolition of the current structure located at 202 North 11th Street. Submit all information to Sandra M.
