As of October 16, 2023, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. Funding is still being approved. A firm timeline for construction has not been disclosed. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: St. Johns County is soliciting qualifications from interested firms to provide professional engineering services for design, permitting, right-of-way acquisition, utility coordination services, and construction documents for improvements along Kings Estate Road and Hilltop Road in St. Johns County, Florida. Kings Estate Road and Hilltop Road are minor collector roadways in the east central portion of the County. The roadway network is located in close proximity to two designated evacuation routes and major collector roadways (State Road 207 and US1). A study completed September 16, 2019 provided recommendations for safety improvements and corridor concept plans for the two-mile route from SR 207 to the intersection with Old Moultrie Road. Proposed improvements will provide for vehicular and pedestrian safety by increasing travel lane width, adding paved shoulders, curb and gutter, a multi-use path and sidewalks along King Estates Road & Hilltop Road from Old Moultrie Road to SR207. St. Johns County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids/proposals, waive minor informalities, or award the bid/proposal which best serves the interests of St. Johns County. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
