As of May 19, 2021, this project has been awarded to Baxter & Woodman Natural Resources for $794,228.15 (Base Bid: $700,000.00 + Alternate: $94,228.15). Bid proposals for this project will be considered not only on the basis of cost, but also on past performance, experience and ability to perform the work. The Village of Algonquin reserves the right to accept the bid deemed to be in its own best interest, which is based on all of the above considerations. Bid will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder determined in the exclusive discretion of the Village Board of Trustees. Description of Work The proposed work is officially known as RANDALL ROAD WETLAND ENHANCEMENTS. The project is described as the construction of an earthen berm water control structure to enhance upland water features and provide on-line detention, as well as the construction of a spillway to a wetland enhanced educational focal point, and all necessary restoration in Algonquin, Illinois, as further described in the contract documents for the said work prepared by Christopher B. Burke Engineering,Ltd. (CBBEL). This Project Consists of: BASE BID All work as described in the plans and specifications, excluding items identified as Alternate Items Bid. ALTERNATE ITEMS BID All work as described in the plans identified as Alternate Items Bid including the pedestrian bridge and aggregate path, including all work associated with these items. Award or Rejection The Village of Algonquin reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder for the BASE BID or the BASE BID plus ALTERNATE ITEMS BID in the Bid Proposal, based upon which lowest bid is in the Village's best interest. Each bidder must submit bids for the BASE BID and the BASE BID plus ALTERNATE ITEMS BID to be eligible for the award of the contract. The regulations of the State of Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 5 ILCS 140, apply to all records of the vendor/contractor/subcontractor pertaining to this authorization or contract. When requested by the Village of Algonquin, the vendor/contractor is required to provide all records requested within no more than three (3) business days, at no cost to the Village of Algonquin.
