The Town of Easton, Connecticut is soliciting sealed bids for the Replacement of South Park Avenue Bridge No. 04213 over Mill River. The project generally consists of the construction of a new NEXT Beams bridge on new concrete abutments and associated road and storm drainage. The roadway will be closed to traffic in the area of the bridge to allow construction in one stage. The project also includes bituminous curbing, metal beam rail and bridge railing, turf establishment, and the installation, maintenance and removal of erosion control measures A satisfactory Bid Bond or Certified Check, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid, shall be submitted with each bid. The Bid Bond shall be made payable to Town of Easton and shall be properly executed by the Bidder and acceptable sureties. All bonds must be from sureties registered in the State of Connecticut. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. See CHRO Requirements in Contract Documents. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of Bid opening. The award of a Contract, if awarded, will be the lowest responsible qualified bidder, provided that the bid is reasonable and that it is in the best interest of the Town of Easton to accept such bid. The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, or waive any technicality in any Bid or part thereof, if deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Easton.
