The Southborough DPW will receive bids for the Southborough History Walk. Work will include: clearing and grubbing, unclassified excavation and embankment, as well as construction of sidewalks, drainage and landscape areas. The work under this Contract consists of landscaping and sidewalk improvements near the intersection of St Marks Street and Marlborough Road (Route 85). The existing St Mark's Street will remain in its current location and a section of replacement roadway will be built to its subbase adjacent to the History Walk Park. The proposed work includes unclassified excavation, full-depth pavement (excluding the hot mix asphalt), hot mix asphalt and cement concrete walkways, granite curb, subbase for the playground equipment area, landscaping, rain garden, loam and seed, installation of a portion of a closed drainage system and other incidental work. Bid alternates have been included to upgrade the hot mix asphalt walk to cement concrete or to cement concrete with stamped sections All work done under this contract shall be in conformance with the 2021 MassDOT Standard Specificationsfor Highways and Bridges, the October 2017 Construction Standard Details, the 2015 Overhead Signal Structure and Foundation Standard Drawings, MassDOT Traffic Management Plans and Detail Drawings, the latest Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways with Massachusetts Amendments, the 1990 Standard Drawings for Signs and Supports, the 1968 Standard Drawings for Traffic Signals and Highway Lighting; the latest edition of American Standard for Nursery Stock; the Plans, and the Special Provisions contained in this book.
