Lake County Forest Preserves, in accordance with laws of State of Illinois, hereby notifies all bidders that the work performed under this contract shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act 820 ILCS 130/1 et seq. Bids shall be accompanied by bid security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the total bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond upon award of the Contract in the penal sum of the full amount of the Contract Price as described in the bid package. *The Work includes several activities related to lakeside bluff and lakeshore stabilization, and public access improvements. The Work generally includes, but is not limited to, earth excavation and placement, stone toe rip-rap bank shoreline treatment, in-lake geogrid removal, removal and replacement of an asphalt and concrete walk-in canoe access launch, and restoration of all disturbed areas. The Work shall be performed at the following Work Site: Grant Woods Forest Preserve West Lake Shore Drive, between Rollins and Fairfield Roads Ingleside, Illinois The project consists of the construction of the shoreline stabilization by placing a stone toe along the eroded areas outlined in the plans. Before placement of the stabilization, the existing exposed geogrid must be removed. A new boat ramp into Long Lake will also be constructed along with re-stabilization of the disturbed areas, and miscellaneous items of work necessary to complete these improvements. Any question and/or requests for clarifications must be submitted in writing to the Department of Purchasing no Later than 11/09/2022 10:00 AM, CST
