The Lititz Public Works Garage project includes an addition and renovation of the existing Public Works Garage. It also includes a new police parking garage and salt shed. The project will be bid to a single prime contractor, and the work in this project shall be paid for in accordance with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act. Rate determinations are included in the project material. Additionally, the Borough of Lititz is an equal opportunity employer and bidders should refer to the nondiscrimination clause in the project manual. budget is between $1,250,000 and $1,750,000. Each bidder must deposit a bid security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the instructions to bidders. The Contractor is required to furnish performance and payment bonds or letter of credit covering the faithful performance of the Contract and payment of obligations arising thereunder. Bonds or letter of credit may be obtained through the Contractor's usual source and the cost thereof shall be included in the Contract Sum. The amount of each bond/letter of credit shall be equal to 100 percent of the Contract Sum. Bids may be held by the Owner and not withdrawn by the contractor for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days after receipt of bids. Oral, written, or telecopied modifications to bids will not be considered and may result in disqualification. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid or a Certified Check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bids or to reject any or all bids. The Owner reserves the right to modify the Contract Documents and re-bid the project, if necessary, to meet Owner's budgetary requirements or to enter into negotiations with any bidder. All questions about the meaning or intent of the bidding documents are to be submitted in writing via online. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Architect in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda. Addenda will be posted online Questions received less than five (5) days prior to the date of bid opening may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Owner reserves the right to reject a bid based on Owners and Architects evaluation of qualification information submitted following opening of bids. The undersigned Bidder proposes and agrees hereby to commence the Work of the Contract Documents on a date specified in a written Notice to Proceed to be issued by Architect, and shall fully complete the Work by October 29, 2021.
