Multi-lane Arterial and Expressway - Major Reconstruction and/or Widening. QEW Burlington Skyway Southbound Lane (SBL)/Niagara Bound structural rehabilitations (Site #: 36X-60/2) and pavement resurfacing of the structure. Possible widening of the QEW by one lane in the Niagara-bound direction between north of North Shore Boulevard N-E/W off-ramp and the Burlington Skyway, and associated N-S on-ramp re-alignment. An upgrade of the existing conventional lighting system on both northbound and southbound QEW shoulders from the south end of the Burlington Skyway southerly to Fletcher Avenue for approximately 2.8 km. The upgrades include replacement of some existing light poles and LED retrofit of others. TIMELINE: Detailed design is ongoing. Additional work as been added to the study & scope (LED Lighting). Detailed Design and Class EA Study for the structural rehabilitations of the QEW Burlington Skyway southbound lane is anticipated to be completed by early 2024. Tender expected early 2024.
