Truckee Meadows Water Authority (Tmwa) Is Accepting Sealed Bids for All Labor, Materials, Equipment, and Incidentals Required for Rehabilitating an Existing Welded Steel Potable Water Tank. Specific Work Will Include Adding/updating Appurtenances to Meet Current Standards, Interior Coating, Exterior Painting, Telemetry Upgrades, and Site Improvements. Range for Engineers Estimate: $414,000 - $506,000 This project includes work at the Silver Lake 1 tank, which is located in Stead, NV, immediately north of Highway 395 between the Stead Boulevard and Red Rock Road exits. The tank site is accessed from 5905 Silver Lake Road via a 700-ft dirt access road, approximately 0.7 miles east of Road Rock Road. Tmwa Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Bids, Including Without Limitation the Right to Reject Any or All Nonconforming, Non-responsive, Unbalanced, or Conditional Bids, and to Reject the Bid of Any Bidder if Tmwa Believes That It Would Not Be in the Best Interest of Tmwa to Make an Award to That Bidder. Tmwa Also Reserves the Right to Waive Informalities. Bids Will Be Evaluated as Prescribed in Nevada Revised Statute 338.147. Question Cutoff Date 1/25/2021 08:00:00 PM (ET) The work for this project consists of improvements to an existing welded steel potable water tank in the TMWA distribution system. Steel fabrication, blasting/coating, and some sitework will be required. Details are listed below: Silver Lake 1 Tank - This 1.0 million gallon (MG) welded steel tank was constructed in 1985. Work for this project includes removal of some inoperative fixtures; an air gap to be installed on the existing overflow pipe; installation of two inward-swing manways; modification of the existing roof hatch; ladder and railing modifications; a roof safety cable system with posts; water quality sampling taps; replacement of the existing roof vent; a new level indicator pipe into a new vault; a new post hydrant; site paving; electrical conduit and connectors; and other modifications per the improvement plans. The tank will require complete blasting and application of an exterior paint system with an epoxy primer, polysiloxane topcoat, and a non-skid walkway on the roof. The interior will receive a complete blast and application of a one-coat ultra-high solids two-component epoxy system on the walls and floor, and a system meeting the requirements of AWWA ICS-5 on the ceiling and roof structure. Bids shall include all labor, materials, equipment, permit compliance, and related costs to provide a complete, functional tank upon completion of the Work. The bidder shall include allowances for cold weather work, specifically low-temperature coating formulations, tenting, dehumidification, and/or heating as required to ensure that the contract time and completion dates are met in the event of inclement weather.
