The City of Thomson (City) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for the provision of Residential, Commercial, and roll-off Solid Waste Services. Proposals should be prepared simply and economically, providing a straightforward concise description of the Provider's approach and ability to meet the needs, as stated in the RFP. The City reserves the right to withdraw this RFP at any time and for any reason, and to issue such clarifications, modifications, and/or amendments as it may deem appropriate. The City anticipates making a single award; however, it reserves the right to make awards it deem in the best interest of the independent elected body. Such an award, if any, is projected to be accomplished within sixty (90) days from the proposal opening. Formal communication, such as requests for clarification and/or information concerning this solicitation shall be submitted in writing to Donald Toms, City Administrator (Donald.toms@thomson-mcduffie.net). Questions received less than four (4) business days before the proposal is due may not be answered. Please include the section and paragraph number (if applicable) for each question in order to ensure that questions asked are responded to correctly. The initial term of the contract shall be for five (5) years. The Agreement shall be automatically renewed for an additional two (2) years, unless either party provides notice of non-renewal 120 days prior to end of term. The City reserves the right to waive minor irregularities in proposals, provided that such action is in the best interest of the City.
