This project includes demolition, removal and reconstruction of Carrol Way and Martin Way stairs, located in Juneau, Alaska. ENGINEERS ESTIMATE RANGE: Between $350,000 and $450,000. COMPLETION OF WORK. The WORK must be completed by October 31, 2024. DEADLINE FOR BIDDER QUESTIONS: 4:30pm Alaska Time on October 25, 2023. SITE OF WORK. The site of the WORK is Carrol Way from Franklin Street to Gastineau Avenue and Martin Way from Franklin to upper end, below Gastineau Ave located in the Downtown area of Juneau, Alaska. Carrol Way. The WORK consists of demolition and removal of approximately 171 feet of existing timber stairways, landings, and footings within Carrol Way right of way and the salvaging of useable landings and stair treads. Construction of new wooden stairway structures and the reuse of existing usable stair treads and landings and construction of stairway approach at the upper end and lower ends of the stairway. The WORK also includes minor grading and drainage, and other miscellaneous related WORK. In addition to the stairway construction there are existing electrical / utility conduits attached to the stairs that shall remain in service, be removed from the existing structure, and installed on the new stairway during construction. Coordination with the various utility companies will be required during the reconstruction of the stairways. Martin Way. The WORK consists of demolition and removal of approximately 122 feet of existing timber stairways, landing, and footings within the Martin Way right of way and the salvaging of useable landings and stair treads. Construction of new wooden stairway structures and the reuse of existing usable stair treads and landings and construction of stairway approach at the upper end and lower ends of the stairway. The WORK also consists of removal and replacement of approximately 150 feet of existing sewer main line, new cleanouts, and new sewer services within the Martin Way right-of-way. The WORK also includes minor grading and drainage, and other miscellaneous related WORK. In addition to the stairway construction there are existing electrical / utility conduits attached to the stairs that shall remain in service, be removed from the existing structure, and installed on the new stairway during construction. Coordination with the various utility companies will be required during the reconstruction of the stairways.
