Project consists of the renovation of an existing stadium. Work includes adding more fan entrances; replacing all 19,000 seats; updating heating and cooling systems; and upgrading load-in areas to provide faster changeovers for staging concerts and other events. A new practice center that will be attached to Spectrum Center is expected to complete by 2027 and is the final phase of this project. As of June 7, 2023, a Joint Venture CM team has been selected and bid packages are now underway. From earlier RFQ solicitation: A non-exclusive scope of services for the Arena Renovation Project may include the following improvements: Area Entrances, Hospitality, Concourse, Bowl, Restroom, Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing. It is anticipated that the site will be available for major construction activities in approximately June of 2023. Utilizing a phased approach, construction activities are anticipated to end by October 2025. An acceptable schedule will be agreed upon prior to the commencement of construction. Shortlisted Bidders Are : Barton Malow Builders, LLC/McFarland Group, LLC, a Joint Venture Gilbane Building Company/Marand Builders, Inc., a Joint Venture Turner Construction Company/D.A.
