Bathurst Quay Neighborhood Implementation. The scope of work proposed includes the Global Centre for Climate Resilience through Art and Design at the Canada Malting Silos building on the Toronto waterfront. The Global Centre for Climate Resilience through Art and Design at the Canada Malting Silos building on the Toronto waterfront. TIMELINE: The consultant is completing concept plans and completion of the Erieann Quay Landscape Plan. OCAD University is in partnership with the city to propose repurposing the site. The project appeared before city council late May, 2022. OCAD U partnered with Trans Europe Halle, a Sweden-based social incubator renowned for preserving abandoned structures. OCAD U has partnered with the City of Toronto to activate the Canada Malting Silos on the Toronto waterfront at Bathurst Quay, which will be one of the centre's physical hubs. The city is funding the renovations and repairs to the heritage silos that will transform the site into a dynamic and creative destination. Work is being completed on the south silos and work on the north silos will begin shortly. The project is being developed in partnership with Trans Europe Halles, an international, social incubator based in Sweden that has created a European network of grassroots arts and cultural centres created from preserved and restored abandoned buildings.
