SD36 wishes to retain the services of a Construction Management firm to work with the District, its Prime Consultant and trade contractors for an 18 classroom addition at Guildford Park Secondary School located at 10707 – 146th Street in Surrey. Guildford Park Secondary was originally constructed in 1958 with an area of 3,022 m2. The school has had seven (7) additions, the last one being in 1994. The current school has 42 classrooms and requires 12 portable classrooms to support enrolment. It is expected that at least two (2) more portable classrooms will be required before construction starts on this addition. It is a joint site with Mary Jane Shannon Elementary and includes parking lots, 2 fields and 2 gravel play areas. Scope of work is to build an addition attached to the existing school and a standalone childcare working in coordination with Station One Architects as prime consultants. School Addition Details: Option 1A as described in the Project Definition Report 2-storey 18 classroom, 450 capacity school addition Single storey addition to existing gymnasium 54 new parking stalls Standalone childcare adjacent to Mary Jane Shannon Elementary School Childcare outdoor space landscaping Number of parking stalls to be determined Additional work required to accommodate the addition includes, but not limited to: renovation to an existing classroom(s) to accommodate the BASES Program portable relocation, removal and services work related to an irrigation kiosk civil work Portable classrooms will be set up on site to house students during construction and will later be removed to be reused at as temporary accommodation. during construction.
