Liquidated Damages-$1,000.00 per day Project Duration 60 Working days License Requirements Class A or C-10 DBE Contract goal for this project is 9% percent Scope of Services The work to be performed consists, in general, of installing a new traffic signal and lighting system at the intersection of Ashe Road and McKee Road; removing existing R1-1 street signs, removing existing "STOP" pavement markings, removing existing traffic stripes; refreshing "AHEAD" pavement markings; installing "SIGNAL" pavement markings, installing Type "D" Detector Loops, and installing Type "E" Detector Loops; installing AC Dike. The City of Bakersfield shall furnish the following equipment for the installation of the traffic signal and lighting system as shown on the plans and described in these special provisions: 1) The 29-5-100-55 signal standards, 19-4-100-30 signal standard, 19-3-100-25 signal standard, and all corresponding signal mast arms and luminaire mast arms, all corresponding connection hardware, anchor and mast arm mounting bolts. The signal standards, mast arms and all associated hardware shall be manufactured per the 2010 State of California Standards Plans and Specifications, and shall be installed under the 2010 Plans and Specifications, unless otherwise shown on the plans or described the special provisions. 2) The traffic signal controller cabinet and corresponding internal equipment, unless otherwise shown on the plans or described in the special provisions. 3) The Opticom Pre-Emption system The contractor shall provide and pay for all required field on-site cable connections, wire harness(es), software programming for the EVP system product, and shall be completed in place and performed by a trained and qualified manufacture Technician (Refer to the payment clause in Section 7-2.19 PAYMENT, located in Part C of these special provisions). 4) Overhead mast arm mounted street name signs and mounting brackets. The Contractor shall furnish the following equipment for the installation of the traffic signal and lighting system as shown on the plans and described in these special provisions: 1) The Four (4) each - 1A pole standards, all corresponding connection hardware, anchor and mounting bolts. The pole standards, and all associated hardware shall be manufactured per the 2010 State of California Standards Plans and Specifications, and shall be installed under the 2010 Plans and Specifications, unless otherwise shown on the plans or described the special provisions. 2) Signal Faces, Signal Heads, Light Emitting Diode Signal Modules, and Light Emitting Diode Pedestrian Signal Faces (Combination Signal), all corresponding connection hardware, mounting bolts, and all associated hardware shall be manufactured per the 2010 State of California Standards Plans and Specifications, and shall be installed under the 2010 Plans and Specifications, unless otherwise shown on the plans or described the special provisions. 3) Encom Pulse S as the replacement for the Encom 5100R. 4) Pedestrian Push Button, all corresponding connection hardware, anchor and mounting bolts. The pedestrian push button, and all associated hardware shall be manufactured per the 2010 State of California Standards Plans and Specifications, and shall be installed under the 2010 Plans and Specifications, unless otherwise shown on the plans or described the special provisions. During the bidding of this project, contractors who have questions or desire clarifications about the bid documents, must submit those questions or requests for clarifications in writing using the form provided in the bid documents. Said questions and requests for clarifications must be submitted by the date identified in the Request for Information (RFI) form and in these Special Provisions.
