Single story building expansion of approximately 9,101 square feet in size & renovation of existing building of approximately 5,133 square feet is size, Business (B) occupancy, Type II-B construction type, and fully sprinkled. Please refer technical questions to: michael.robinson1@nuecesco.com Project will be phased into three phases. Refer to construction phasing plan. Phase I will be to build the new autopsy addition. Addition will have to be fully operational before existing autopsy can be demolished. Renovation of existing autopsy area will be phase 2A. Phase 2A includes the office area for the medical examiners. Existing office area will remain operational until Phase 2A is complete. Once Phase 2A is completed. Existing office area can be demolished to create the general administration area. General administration area will be renovated as part of phase 2B. Accompanying this Bid is a certified or cashier check or bid bond payable to the order of Nueces County (hereinafter called County), for not less than five percent (5%) of the largest amount for which a contract can be awarded under this proposal. Bidder agrees that if his/her Bid is accepted by the County, he will complete all work called for under the Contract Documents on or before 540 calendar days after the date of the Notice to Proceed, and if the work is not completed by such time, he/she agrees to pay to the County as liquidated damages, the sum of One thousand-five hundred Dollars and no/100 ($1500.00) for each calendar day after such time that the work remains incomplete, calculated in accordance with the provisions of the Contract Documents. The construction of this Project is subject to V.T.C.A., Government Code, Chapter 2258. Prevailing Wage Rates, the terms of which require that not less than the general prevailing rate of current per diem wages for work of a similar character in the locality in which the work is performed, and not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem for legal holidays and overtime work, shall be paid by Contractor to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed under this Contract. Owner reserves the right to limit selection to products with warranties not in conflict with requirements of the Contract Documents
