**As of 9/22/2020, the project was awarded to North Florida Asphalt, Inc. for $472,031.25. The combined Cleveland Street and Harbert and Shell Streets Water Main Replacement project consists of the construction of 8-inch PVC water mains and appurtenances to replace existing 2-inch water mains within portions of Cleveland Street, Harbert Street and Shell Street. Other proposed improvements include the replacement of water services and meter settings, addition of fire hydrant assemblies, installation of a sewer manhole in Cleveland Street, and related items as identified in the contract documents. The water main replacement work is being completed in advance of planned pavement restoration work by the City; therefore, limited roadway restoration is included in this project. Most areas will receive standard trench restoration and asphalt patching except for the Harbert St./Miccosukee Road intersection. Miccosukee Road is a Leon County owned and maintained roadway, and the intersection will need to be milled and resurfaced after the utility work is complete. The Base Bid consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and materials for construction of approximately 2,500 feet of 8-inch diameter water mains, 43 water services, six fire hydrants, system tie-ins, valves, one sewer manhole, trench restoration, and other related items as identified in the construction documents. Contract time for the Base Bid is one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days. At the time of the bid opening, bidders must be pre-qualified by the City of Tallahassee in the Underground Utilities and Roads and Streets category and must be pre-qualified by the Florida Department of Transportation in the Drainage, Flexible Paving, Grading, and Grassing, Seeding and Sodding categories for their bids to be considered for the award of a contract.
