Bid Schedule A consists of the reconstruction of 7,400 s.y. of road surface including: removal of existing asphalt, road base and unsuitable sub-grade material; installation and compaction of granular barrow, untreated base course, and asphalt; lowering and raising manholes and clean-out boxes; removal and replacement of 1,400 l.f. of curb and gutter and 18 pedestrian access ramps. Bid Schedule B consists of the replacement of approximately 1,300 l.f. of existing culinary waterline including valves, service laterals, meters and connections to existing water mains and all other related items as directed in the Contract Documents. All work specified in the Contract Documents shall be completed within 75 days following the Notice to Proceed. The project paving must occur this year. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent of the total bid price, made payable to South Ogden City Corporation as guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Contract, and furnish a satisfactory, faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price. A waiting period of two weeks from the date of opening of bids to award of contract may be required. Bidders shall assume full responsibility for and shall guarantee the bid price during this period and make certain the time period is stated in and does not restrict the proposal guarantee. All questions relative to this project prior to opening of bids, shall be directed to the Project Engineer. It shall be understood, however, that no specification interpretations will be made by telephone, nor will any "or equal" products be considered for approval prior to award of contract. South Ogden City Corporation reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in a bid, and to make awards in the interest of the City. The culinary waterline replacement portion of this project is partially funded through a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The Contractor shall be required to comply with all federal labor standards and attendant laws, including the payment of the most current Davis-Bacon wages and compliance with Section 3 to provide employment opportunities for lower income persons. Local, minority and women owned firms are invited to bid. The lowest responsible bidder will be selected.
