SORTA is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide for installation of garage doors at the Riverfront Transit Center/Freedom Center as described in the Scope of Work, to include any drawings and specifications. See attached. The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, material, equipment, mockups, supervision, safety, protection, tools, hoisting, scaffolding, unloading, rigging, placing, storage, permits, engineering, shop drawings, samples, coordination, layout, inspection, cleaning, etc., to complete all work for the Project, as shown or implied by the Contract Documents and Conditions, stated herein or inferable therefrom. The Contractor shall perform on the site, and with its own organization, work equivalent to at least twenty (20%) of the total amount of work by dollar value to be performed under the contract. This percentage may be reduced by a modification to this contract if, during performing the work, the contractor requests a reduction and the Contracting Officer determines that the reduction would be to the advantage of SORTA. The anticipated duration of the work is expected to be a 120 calendar day timeline, after written Notice to Proceed is provided. SORTA's Project Manager (PM) will coordinate construction activities with the Freedom Center. It is expected that the Freedom Center will be open during construction. The contractor's work area, worker parking and traffic flow information will be part of the coordination efforts between SORTA and the Freedom Center. A Bid Bond/Guarantee must be issued by a fully qualified surety company acceptable to SORTA and listed as a company currently authorized under 31 CFR, Part 223 as possessing a Certificate of Authority as described thereunder. The bidder shall furnish a bid guarantee in the form of a firm commitment, pursuant to Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Such bonds shall be in the form prescribed in Chapter 153 of the Ohio Revised Code. The penal amount of performance bonds shall be 100% of the original contract price, unless SORTA determines that a lesser amount would be adequate for the protection of SORTA. The penal amount of the payment bonds shall equal Fifty percent (50%) of the contract price. All questions from any Bidder regarding the Solicitation or matters relating thereto must be submitted to SORTA via the Public Purchase electronically no later than Wednesday, June 10, 2020 by 2:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive bid submitted by a responsible bidder. SORTA reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in their entirety or in part, and to waive informalities and minor irregularities.
