As security, each bid must be accompanied by a CERTIFIED CHECK payable, to the order of TREASURER of the State of Connecticut, or the bid must be accompanied by a BID BOND in the amount of 10% of the amount of the bid. All bonds required for this Project shall be acceptable to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and, as a minimum, issued through a bonding company licensed to transact such business in the State of Connecticut and named on the current list of "Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds" as published in the "Treasury Department Circular 570". Performance and Labor and Material Bonds to be furnished by the bidder awarded the contract shall be an amount not less than 100% of the contract price. The awarding authority reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total Bid, and to waive any informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best interests of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. EXECUTIVE ORDER NOS. THREE AND SEVENTEEN: Bidders are advised that the contracts for this project shall be subject to Executive Order No. Three regarding nondiscrimination promulgated June 16, 1971, and to the Guidelines and Rules of the State Labor Commissioner implementing said Executive Order. Bidders are further advised that contracts in connection with this project shall be subject to Executive Order No. Seventeen, promulgated February 15, 1973, requiring contractors and subcontractors to list employment openings with the Connecticut State Employment Service. Said two documents are hereby incorporated herein and made a part hereof as though fully set forth herein. Bidders may receive copies of these documents upon request. Completion Time Allowed: Ninety (90) Calendar Days. Liquidated Damages: Five Hundred Dollars ($200.00) per calendar day. Contract to be awarded on or about April 20, 2020 with a start date on or about June 01, 2020.
