Water outages to the Strozier library must occur when the library is closed and must be coordinated with FSU Facilities staff. MBE participation goals for this project (10.5%) Black 7.5% Women 3.0% Total 10.5% The Base Bid consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and materials for construction of approximately 1,092 linear feet of 12-inch diameter water main, 21 linear feet of 6-inch diameter water main, fire hydrants, water services, system tie-ins, installation of an asphalt patch over all disturbed roadways, and related items as identified in the Contract Documents. The Base Bid also consists of all labor, equipment and materials for construction of approximately 600 linear feet of 1-inch PVC electrical conduit at the southern edge of the water main trench concurrent with the construction of the new water main in Academic Way. The City will evaluate bids in response to this solicitation without discussions and contemplates awarding a contract to the responsible Bidder whose Bid conforms to the requirements of this solicitation. The City reserves the right to accept the Bid, or any portion or portions of the Bid that, in its judgment, will be in the best interest of the City. Each Bidder shall, if so requested by the City, present further evidence of its experience, qualifications, and ability to carry out the terms of the Contract, including a financial statement. Bids must be firm for acceptance for one hundred twenty (120) calendar days following the scheduled time/date for receipt of bids. Bidders must be pre-qualified with the City of Tallahassee in the Roads and Streets category and must be pre-qualified by the Florida Department of Transportation in the categories listed of this solicitation at time of bid opening for their bids to be considered. The pre-qualification process may take several weeks, so contractors interested in doing business with the City should initiate the pre-qualification process early. At the time of the bid opening, bidders must be pre-qualified by the City of Tallahassee in the Underground Utilities and Roads and Streets category and must be pre-qualified by the Florida Department of Transportation in the Drainage, Flexible Paving, Grading, and Grassing, Seeding and Sodding categories for their bids to be considered for the award of a contract. Bidders must also have key personnel certified under the Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector Training Program.
