Construction of a utility-scale, 2.2 MW solar power plant on a parcel of land, east of the Montgomery Place. The land is located between Dundonald Ave and Circle Drive. The facility is expected to hold over 5,000 ground-mounted solar panels; using 35-degree tilt racks spaced 15 metres apart. The facility will have the option to add battery energy storage in the near future as a plug-in and play option. There is a 15kV-750MCM underground distribution feeder running through the north end of the site with concrete pull-vault. TIMELINE: Method of delivery will by Design-Build construction. RFP for design & build contract will be issued by fall 2023. Another separate tender package for landscaping work is also expected to ensue. Construction start is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024. $2.5 million has been secured through the Canada Infrastructure Program.
