The work consists of reconstruction 12,300 s.y. of road surface including: removal of existing asphalt, road base and sub-grade material; installation and compaction of granular barrow, untreated base course, and hot mix asphalt; removal and replacement of 300 l.f. of curb and gutter, 400 l.f. of concrete sidewalk. The work also includes the replacement of culinary water service laterals, valves and fire hydrants and 3,400 l.f. of culinary waterline, installation of 400 l.f. of land drain pipe and all other related items and appurtenances as directed in the Contract Documents. The work is located on Crestwood, Oakwood and Maplewood Streets in South Ogden City. All work specified in the Contract Documents shall be completed within 90 days following the Notice to Proceed. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier s check or bid bond in the amount of five percent of the total bid price, made payable to South Ogden City Corporation as guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Contract, and furnish a satisfactory, faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price. A waiting period of two weeks from the date of opening of bids to award of contract may be required. Bidders shall assume full responsibility for and shall guarantee the bid price during this period and make certain the time period is stated in and does not restrict the proposal guarantee. All questions relative to this project prior to opening of bids, shall be directed to the Project Engineer. It shall be understood, however, that no specification interpretations will be made by telephone, nor will any "or equal" products be considered for approval prior to award of contract. South Ogden City Corporation reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in a bid, and to make awards in the interest of the City.
