PROJECT ADDRESS: ONE TROJAN TRAIL, 1025 SULPHUR SPRINGS ROAD, MORRISTOWN, TENNESSEE 37813. Hamblen County, Department of Education is currently issuing a request for general contracting bids for Phase III Additions and Renovations for Morristown-Hamblen High School West. Hamblen County Department of Education reserves the right to reject any or all Bid proposals and to waive all informalities. Verbal Summary: Without force and effect on requirements of the contract documents, the description of work can be summarized as follows: 1. Site clearing, grading and excavation for building foundations and utilities. 2. Site utilities and improvements including sanitary sewer, site electrical, storm drainage, site paving, landscaping and irrigation systems. 3. The building is classified by the International Building Code as "Educational Occupancy". 4. New Construction shall be classified as Type II-B, Sprinklered, with an area of approximately 11,283 gross square feet. 5. Toilet areas to be renovated will include approximately 2,290 gross square feet on first floor, and 4,617 gross square feet on the second floor. 6. Cafeteria renovations will include approximately 7,991 gross square feet of new finishes. 7. Demolition of existing tile flooring, and installation of new epoxy terrazzo flooring in Kitchen area. 8. Work by Owner will include removal of existing kitchen equipment, including installation of new kitchen equipment. 9. Exterior walls are typically concrete masonry unit cavity walls with brick veneer. 10. Interior walls are typically concrete masonry units, and metal stud framing with gypsum board finish. 11. Structure will consist of a steel frame on concrete foundations. 12. Roofing will consist of fully adhered EPDM membrane roofing and accessories. 13. Mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and communications systems. 14. Allowances include interior and exterior signage, new ceilings for unspecified areas, and a general contingency allowance for work due to existing unforeseen conditions. 15. Pay fees related to the work, including but not limited to tap fees, permit fees, plan review fees, and other fees required by authorities having jurisdiction.
