The anticipated bonding capacity required to execute the project is estimated to be in the $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 range. Bid improvements consist of concrete lining, drainage, earthwork and other work, all in accordance with the contract plans, the contract provisions, and the specifications. The improvements are for construction of water conservation and operational improvements to the KRD system. Requested base bid (Phase NIB) and pre-priced optional bid (Phase MIC) work follow the existing North Branch Canal alignment for a distance of approximately 0.4 miles from the outlet of Siphon No. 6 to the Inlet of Tunnel No. 5. The Project has been divided into two distinct sections to allow for funding phased award as needed. The base bid improvements in these documents are for canal lining of Phase DIB, described as work related to canal lining and improvements between Stations 1738+70 and Station 1744+02.44 (station equation). It is the District's desire to line the remaining reach of the canal downstream of Station 1753+25.20 (station equation) by the start of the 2021 Irrigation Season. Pricing of the additional Phase MIC is requested for optional award at the discretion of KRD. Optional award will depend on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, weather, cost, Contractors work plan, demonstrated productivity on Phase IIIB, and the anticipated start of the irrigation seasons on or about April 15, 2020 and April 1, 2021. This optional pricing will be factored into evaluation of apparent low bidder. The District specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all Bids or re-Bids or to waive inconsequential deviations from Bid requirements not involving time, price, or work quality. Bidders are solely responsible for the cost of preparing their Bids.
