Project work includes excavation/earth moving, installation of over 1.1 miles of 72" diameter storm sewer pipe, construction of storm sewer structures, minor rural roadway reconstruction, and temporary and permanent erosion control. Specific work is as follows: 1. Mobilize labor, equipment, materials, and temporary facilities. 2. Install safety measures, establish limits of construction, adjust the construction fencing, and protect all existing utilities and structures. 3. Install erosion control items and test existing topsoil. 4. Strip and stockpile topsoil. 5. Common excavation for placement of bedding and installation of storm sewer pipe and structures. 6. Construct bypass at 80th Street South. 7. Remove 80th Street South roadway and bedding. 8. Construct storm sewer pipe and structures. 9. Backfill storm sewer pipe and structures. 10. Reconstruct 80th Street South. 10. Test, amend (if necessary), then replace topsoil. 11. Site restoration, including TRM in the southern channel. 12. Demobilize from the site after work is complete. Bid Security in the amount of 5 percent of the amount of the Bid must accompany each Bid. The Owner reserves the right to retain the deposits of the 3 lowest Bidders for a period not to exceed 90 days after the date and time set for the Opening of Bids. No Bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date and time set for the Opening of Bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein, and further reserves the right to award the Contract to the best interests of the District.
