The project is located at multiple sites in the Irondale area of Commerce City. The project generally consists of the removal of electrical equipment, portions of interior ductile iron discharge piping, and pump control valves, followed by wellhouse upgrades that include installation of new pumps, flushing hydrants, new and existing motors, check valves, surge anticipation valves, tees, variable frequency drives, soft starters, HVAC upgrades, and higher capacity electrical service equipment. Work will also include testing, startup services, and miscellaneous upgrades to interior piping appurtenances. Bids will be received on a lump sum basis. It is anticipated that the Contract Agreement will be signed and the Notice to Proceed issued the first week in January 2020. The objective of the project is to have the three northern wells operational by June 3, 2020 and the remainder of the wells operational by August 1, 2020. Final completion of the project is scheduled for September 3, 2020, two hundred and ten (210) days from the Notice to Proceed date. Bid Security in the amount of 5 percent of the total Bid must accompany each Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Performance Bond and a Construction Payment Bond as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the contract. The Bid and Bid Security will remain subject to acceptance for 80 calendar days after the Bid opening, or for such longer period of time that Bidder may agree to in writing upon request of OWNER. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive informalities, and to reject non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional Bids.
