As of October 26, 2023, per owner: a. The MWRD Permit has been issued. The structural plans for the picnic shelter have just been received and are being reviewed by the City. Once approved we will be issued the full permit from the City. b. A preconstruction meeting took place in early October. The contractor is going to focus on work around field three this Fall so as to minimize disruption to the baseball season in spring 2024. c. Project start date is TBD. A date will be established once the permit is formally issued. The following is for historical purposes: In compliance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, the Park Ridge Park District (PRPD) seeks to select individuals or firms experienced in landscape architecture to provide landscape design and construction administration services for proposed improvements to Hinkley Park subject to funding availability and approval. Hinkley Park is 12.5 acres, located near Uptown Park Ridge, features a Skate Park, swimming pool, lighted tennis courts, lighted ball fields, play fields, football, a basketball court, playground, sand volleyball, and outdoor restrooms. The PRPD is seeking to develop a Master Plan and construction documentation for the park and intends to submit all or a portion of the plan for the Open Space Land Acquisition Grant (OSLAD) in 2020, if funding is available. The landscape architect will be responsible for leading a team of appropriate consultants including civil engineer, lighting consultant, etcetera, and will be required to obtain all necessary permits. The program elements include a pathway system that connects park amenities and is compliant with the American’s with Disabilities standards for design and construction, a picnic shelter, a community garden, LED lighting for the ball fields and replacement of the existing irrigation system. As part of this process, the Consultant shall address a comprehensive storm water management program that includes 'green' practices. The approximate desired area of pathway is 14,000 square feet. This quantity is subject to change upon the review and recommendation by the Consultant. The costs of this project will be finalized at a later date.
