UV disinfection improvements - new UV and Parshall Flume structure, including all associated treatment process equipment, piping, valves, gates, appurtenances, structures, electrical, instrumentation, and miscellaneous site improvements. Any requests received after this date and time will not be responded to Project Overview: The Work of this Contract involves modifications to the Copperas Cove South Wastewater Treatment Plant, including demolition of some existing facilities, renovations of existing facilities and the construction of new facilities. B. Demolition shall be conducted by the Contractor to ready the site for Work, but shall be scheduled to not remove those process units from the treatment train that are required for operation of the plant in order to meet the TPDES permit requirements and process sludge (see Section 01 35 13 - Special Project Procedures). Demolition activities include: 1. Abandoned NPW HP tank, concrete pad, and canopy to be demolished. 2. Existing concrete pads to be demolished as shown on the Drawings. 3. Top section of MH-A to be removed. 4. Existing UV disinfection equipment and electrical. 5. Temporary removal of handrail, steps, and sidewalk. 6. Miscellaneous piping, equipment and structures as shown on the Drawings C. Construction activities in the base bid include construction of: 1. Construction of a new UV and Parshall flume structure, including a canopy over the UV equipment electrical cabinets. 2. Installation of new UV disinfection and 12-inch Parshall flume equipment and associated electrical and instrumentation equipment. 3. Effluent transfer piping from the existing final clarifier effluent channel to the new UV structure, including hydraulic control gates. 4. Site improvements: To include all required upgrades to yard and utility piping, underground power and communications lines, site improvements, site grading and road improvements. 1.3 CONTRACT METHOD A. The Work hereunder will be constructed under a single lump sum contract.
