The proposed improvements will consist of stream bank stabilisation, pool/riffle control structures, removal and re purpose of on-site failed concrete lined channel, removal of non-native vegetation, earthwork, re-grading, and re-establishing channel bottom, stone toe protection, minor storm sewer, and all other ancillary work required to complete the project in accordance with the plans, specifications and all other applicable standards. This project is funded in part with grant funding through an IEPA Section 319 grant program. The Village of Carpentersville advises all contractors and their sub-contractors shall meet all of the requirements imposed on them by Federal and State laws and regulation; as well as the provisions of the grant agreement. A Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total proposal shall be submitted with each proposal as provided in Article 102.09 of the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction", prepared by the Illinois Department of Transportation. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The awarding authority reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals as provided in Article 102.08 of the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction", prepared by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
