City of University Place Request for Qualifications Chambers Creek Trail Bridge and Boardwalk Design The City of University Place, Washington(U.P.), on behalf of, City of University Place, City of Lakewood and Pierce County (the stakeholders), is seeking qualified consultants or a team of consultants for a Design of the Chambers Creek Trail Bridge and Boardwalk. The City of University Place (U.P.), on behalf of City of University Place, City of Lakewood and Pierce County (the stakeholders), is requesting Statements of Qualifications for Engineering Design and Construction services for two pedestrian bridges and approximately 2,000 feet of boardwalk on the Chambers Creek Canyon Trail. University Place is interested in clear span bridges, elevated boardwalk above wetlands, and boardwalk across steep slope with plank walking surfaces. State grant funds will be used for this project. The result of this RFQ process will be the negotiation and award of a Professional Services Agreement (PSA). One firm may be selected for award and negotiation of a PSA. In some cases, University Place may elect to assign only specific portions of a project, or in other cases, the entire project including auxiliary associated work to the Consultant Statements of qualifications may be emailed to Gary Cooper, Director of Parks and Public Works at gcooper@cityofup.com (please limit submission to 20 MB) The RFQ is also available on the City's electronically under "Chambers Creek Canyon Trail and Bridge Design Request for Qualifications". The City of University Place reserves the right to reject any and all submittals and to waive irregularities and informalities in the submittal and evaluation process. This RFQ does not obligate the City to pay any costs incurred by respondents in the preparation and submission of the request. Furthermore, the RFQ does not obligate the City to accept or contract for any services. As April 10, 2020, this project is in early design. However, information regarding the design firm selected has not been released. A tentative bid schedule for contractors has not been disclosed. Construction is slated to begin Spring of 2021; however, a firm date has not been established.
