State of Illinois, Department of Transportation, Contractor Pre-Qualification and Subcontractor Pre-Qualification/Registration is required. This project includes, but is not limited to, the following major work items: dual culvert removal and replacement; cofferdam and dewatering operations; curb and gutter removal and replacement; hot-mix asphalt pavement patching; sidewalk removal and replacement; light pole relocation; boardwalk and fence reinstallation; parkway restoration; and other appurtenant work. This work is subject to the wage provisions of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. 820 ILCS 130/0/01 et seq. and the Illinois Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act. 820 ILCS 265/1 et seq relative to prevailing wages of laborers, mechanics, and other workers employed in any Public Works as amended by Public Acts 86799 and 86693. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, Bank Cashier's Check or Certified Check in the amount of five (5) percent of the total bid amount made payable to Vernon Township shall accompany the bid. Vernon Township reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, to award all or part of a contract, and to make such awards as are in the best interests of the Township. Factors other than price which will be considered in awarding or rejecting bids shall include the results of reference contacts, and the quality of the bidder's performance on prior Township projects, if any, in the judgment of the Township Board and staff. All proposals submitted shall be valid for a period of 60 days.
