The Town of Coventry, Connecticut is seeking sealed bids for furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment required for Intersection Improvements At Swamp Road & Boston Turnpike (Ct Route 44). Prospective Bidders may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Due to COVID-19, orders must be placed phone or email ONLY. Pick up will be arranged following the Issuing Office current COVID-19 guidelines at specific times ONLY. Each Bidder must deposit with his/her bid a certified check, or a bid bond, for not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid as provided in the Information for Bidders. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. The attention of the Bidders is called to the requirement for minimum wage rates to be paid under this Contract. CONTRACTORS that find discrepancies and/or errors in or between plans, specifications, quantities and other matters, must immediately notify Todd Penney, P.E., Town Engineer, 1712 Main Street, Coventry, CT 06238 or at tpenney@coventryct.org in writing not less than ten days before the scheduled bid opening. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid and to waive any informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Coventry.
