Gordon Dr, Sioux City, IA
The project is located between Gordon Drive/IA-12 and 1408 South Hennepin Street and includes clearing and grubbing, filling of voids in the berm, and seeding. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, readvertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. Copies of said construction documents are available at the office of the City Clerk of Sioux City for examination by the public. The documents are also available for viewing by the public, or sub-contractors, or suppliers, on the City's Engineering website. Contractors intending to bid as the prime contractor must obtain a hard copy of the plans, specifications and form of contract from the Purchasing Division. Failure to obtain a hard copy may result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive and rejected.
