A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Providing all labor, materials and equipment to construct approximately 0.54 miles of 5 sidewalk for pedestrian access to the Big Creek Greenway Trail within the existing right of way of McFarland Road, and Shiloh Road. Bidders submitting a bid $2,000,000 or less must be either a prequalified contractor or a registered subcontractor with GDOT. Bidders submitting a bid in excess of $2,000,000 must be prequalified with GDOT. All work to be completed within 90 calendar days from Forsyth Countys Notice to Proceed. Funding from Transportation Enhancement, DBE goal is 15%, Davis Bacon wage rates will apply. The Bidder is required to examine the sites of the proposed work, the Bid Specifications, Supplemental Specifications, Special Provisions, and Contract forms prior to submitting a Bid. The GDOT Standard Specifications for Construction of Transportation Systems, 2013 Edition, GDOT Supplemental Specifications Book, 2016 Edition, and applicable special provisions and supplemental specifications apply to this project. The applicable GDOT specifications govern over any conflicting requirements that may be found in the Agreement, Supplemental General Provisions, and General Conditions. Each Bidder must deposit with his Bid, a Bid Bond, or a Certified or Cashier's Check to the order of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid and a Consent of Surety form from a surety company licensed to conduct business in the State of Georgia, engaging to furnish, upon award of the Contract, a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond. The Performance Bond shall be in a sum not less than one hundred percent (100%) and the Payment Bond shall be in a sum not less than one hundred and ten percent (110%) of the total price bid for the completed work and the appropriate insurance certificate showing Forsyth County, GA as an additional insured. No Bidder may withdraw a Bid within 120 days after the actual date of the opening, thereof. Forsyth County in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d 42 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority enterprise will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated on grounds of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration of award. Award of bid will be made at a later date. The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
