For the necessary work required for the Johnson Road South Pavement Improvements for the City of Fremont, Nebraska. The work for this project will consist of the following items: construction of approximately 510 L.F. of 8-inch diameter sanitary sewer, 560 L.F. of 8-inch diameter water main, 2,580 L.F. of storm sewer of various sizes, 11,310 S.Y. of 8-inch P.C. Concrete Pavement All Bids for the said construction work must be made on blank forms furnished by the Engineer and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security or Certified Check, the amount of which is not less than Five (5) percent of the bid price. Bid Security shall be made payable to the City of Fremont and will be held by the clerk as liquidated damages in the case the bid is accepted and the Bidder neglects, or refuses, to enter into contract and furnish bonds in accordance herewith. Bid Security shall be sealed in a separate envelope from the Bid and labeled on the outside "Bid Security". No bidder may withdraw his/her bid(s) for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of Bids. The Contractor(s), whose Bid(s) is accepted by the City of Fremont, Nebraska, will be required to furnish a Performance, Payment and Maintenance Bond in a sum equal to one-hundred (100) percent of the contract price, for a period of two years past the completion of the project. The City Council of Fremont, Nebraska reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive informalities and technicalities, and to enter into such Contract as it may deem to be for their best interest. All work is to be Substantially Completed by October 31, 2019 and ready for Final Payment by April 30, 2020. Liquidated Damages of five-hundred ($500) per working day will be assessed after the time for completion, plus any extensions granted by the City Council, has expired.
