DEEP is seeking contruction bids for the Sucker Brook Dam Project. Removal of the existing piping and manhole structures, the installation of a new section of reinforced concrete pipe, the construction of a new riprap lined and grouted channel, and the removal and transportation of accumulated sediment from base of the site to a predetermined on-site location. To enter into and execute a Contract, if awarded, on the basis of this Bid and to provide the required Performance Bond and Labor and Material Bond for the work in accordance with the Notice to Bidders. All work under this Contract will be completed within 180 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. If the project completion is delayed, liquidated damages will be assessed at the rate of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) per calendar day thereafter Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, in the form required and provided by the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection and having as surety thereto such surety company or companies as are authorized to do business in the State of Connecticut, and for an amount not less than 10 per cent of the Total Bid Amount. Bid Bonds submitted by bidders and received by the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection shall be void upon execution of the Contract by the State of Connecticut.
