The existing storm drainage below the Sheldahl pond located near NW 98th Street is a natural channel with undersized culverts. The natural channel and existing drainage structures require resizing. The natural drainage channel flows through back and side yards of lots that have been develop-0d for many years. Linear length of the drainage way from NW 98th Street to northeast corner of the NW 1/4 is 1700 feet. SCHEDULING AND PROJECT STATUS: FY 23-24 Engineering Design FY 24-25 Construction Timing would align with planned sanitary sewer improvements in the same area. RELATIONSHIP TO COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND OTHER PROJECTS: The Comprehensive Plan does not indicate a change in this established residential area. However, development upstream and the existence of a farm pond could cause impacts on the established area. This project was included as one of the priority projects in the Watershed Assessment and Stormwater Management Plan completed in 2009. The project is included in the city's 2022-2027 capital improvement plan (CIP). As of December 20, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
